Stearman Mail Plane
Step one: is cleaning the airplane with a no-rinse cleaning method In your hanger. Avoid pressure sprayers and direct water jet damage. Always use new microfiber towels and spray cleaners that are safe to the aircraft.
Step two: correcting the paint. Each case is different in that, some aircraft coatings are highly oxidized, chalky, paint runs, stained, etc. These surfase defects are corrected by labor intensive methods and a careful selection of pads, polishing agents, and polishing machines.
Step three: Once the correction is done, we prep and final polish while treating the surfase with a ceramic coat primer.
Step four: The fourth and final step is to hand-apply and blend the ceramic coating.
The ceramic coating will last up to five years, depending on use, exposure, and proper care and cleaning.
Special Note to Aircraft Owners: Because Brandan is a thirty-year A & P Mechanic, he pays close attention to critical parts such as antennas, pitot masts, AOA vanes, and static ports. A logbook entry of the ceramic coating will complete his work on the aircraft.
